Lots to do in Townsend

Sometimes people might get the impression that if Townsend is The Peaceful Side of the Smokies, there's nothing to do over here. Not so! One of the upcoming attractions is The Smoky Mountain Pottery Festival at the Townsend Visitors Center on June 4 and 5, 2010. Don't miss it. Also, there are numerous riding stables, a golf course, walking and biking trails, the Heritage Center Museum and Tuckaleechee Caverns, to name a few. As the weather gets warmer, the tubing companies will be up and running, and tubing down the Little River is a great way to spend a warm afternoon. And don't forget we are one of the gateways into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Just driving through is a pleasure, but be sure to stop along the way. The trails are beautiful, the rivers are pleasing to the ear, and who knows what kind of wild life you will see. So, come visit us and enjoy the many attractions in Townsend.
Cabins are available for you to rent. See our website at www.tuckaleecheeretreatcenter.com.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. Take time to check out nature.
It's time for a little time off. As an innkeeper, it is sometimes hard to find the time to take off. However, Mother's Day weekend is a great time. Nobody books a retreat or reunion on Mother's Day weekend. So, I'm taking a road trip with my friend to explore Louisville, KY. I'll post pictures upon my return, and let you know how it went.
